Orphee nuked his own nation to make a point. Lacus might not have recognized it initially being in the command room and quickly evacuated but Kira and the archangel who was on the battlefield did. Lacus only asked them to stop Kira but then they attacked everyone even if they were not violating any borders. These were people she both knew and trusted. He also tried to sexually assault her. Orphee was irredeemable. Why should they feel emotional baggage? I do feel bad for Ingrid though.

Dullindal requiemed one nation, master minded the whole war. Even the protagonists were silent and were not all smiles after the war. Ingrid was best girl of GS freedom.
