Honestly, with that guy, it's impossible to tell. We can speculate all we want, but seems like we'll just have to wait and see. Either way, I doubt it's going to be something like Sylphie dying. Or even the baby dying. Heck, it might not even be immediate.
I am glad he went, though it was obvious. If nothing else, this was important where Norn's concerned. She still loves her mother and father more than anything, and while she finally managed to reset her relationship with Rudy, if he then decided to stay behind, then she'd probably have died searching futilely for her parents while still boiling with anger and resentment toward him.
