Laios is the comedic character, not a king of Thebes. He lights up his party members as a animal mascot in mahou shoujo story.
About the dungeon, Wikipedia thinks a dungeon is an essential part of a castle.
Quote:
The word dungeon comes from French donjon (also spelled dongeon), which means "keep", the main tower of a castle. The first recorded instance of the word in English was near the beginning of the 14th century when it held the same meaning as donjon.

The maid who appear in all paintings never age a bit. In the first painting, the maid treats Laios as a page boy. She might think his armor is a cosplay. In the third painting, the maid serves Laios food as one of the guests. Laios leaves the painting with fire trail, but he cannot take the food out of the painting.
