I guess it's nice to have Putin clarify his position. It hasn't changed.

Been a lot of grumbling about how Tucker Carlson is more like a pro-Russian propagandist than a journalist, so this can't be a good interview...

But I disagree with that. Under these circumstances, Tuck is probably the best person for the job. Western journalists who aren't famous and well-liked in Russia would never get access to Putin, so who else was going to do this? And Tuck did, to his credit, at least attempt to challenge him on some things.

If he was a total Kremlin stooge, that'd be one thing, but I actually don't think Tuck cares that much for Russia. He is above all, an American culture warrior. And the populist foreign policy, which calls for throwing Ukraine under the bus, is a totally homegrown thing.
