Yeah, you can see that in the flashback where the unknown man takes Kazu and Reiji to the beach. There was a desperation in her eyes and actions that I feel was very authentic. She really wants him to be by her side, but still, the big "why" is, her thought process on making Reiji be the one, over everyone else.

I don't think it was so much as Sensei being asked to bear his child as much as it was for Yuko discarding Kazu so easily. Her anger felt more about not understanding why she is so attached to having people in the house over loving them.
Side note I missed in hindsight; "Filling the gap" as she says is quite a telling phrase to me. I wonder does this hold a clue to how Yuko thinks.
