I had a very similar experience: with my last position, the founder brought his dogs to our office since we had a dog-friendly building, and one of his dogs was a little Yorkie. We loved having him around, but one day, we learnt that the Yorkie had suffered from a renal infection and passed on. It hit especially hard even though we'd only known the Yorkie for a half-year. I can't imagine what it would be like for pets who've been with families for the whole of their lives, and here, I'm glad
