I would suggest reading the original Attack on Titan oneshot which reminded me of this finale.
Still, what really seems to bother a lot of people in the finale is that Eren admitted he loved Mikasa. Was it because he used to ignore her or because of the concept of "toxic masculinity"? I see this scene reference parodied in several fansubs.
