Godzilla fans are anxious by this choice of director because of Dragon Quest: Your Story, specifically the ending; Doraemon and Parasyte were "safe" because he can't stray from source material. Some who attend Godzilla Festival mentioned the enthusiasm from "new Godzilla movie" went downhill when the director announced, simply hope he learned something after general reception of Dragon Quest: Your Story.

Dragon Quest so I wouldn't know.
As usual, hoping for the best here. Last time we had a Doraemon director making Godzilla, we got
Singular Point, which is pretty good.
