No. That is why autocracies are so dangerous in the long run, with no checks and balances one individual can ruin a country. Democracies might not be perfect (making everyone agree in everything is not possible)., but are the best option nonetheless.
From the 77 celebration it is quite interesting what we did not saw:
1. No world leader besides putin, the glaring absence is china's xi jinping but even Lukashenko couldn't make it? Darn.
2. No military airplanes@parade. Either they don't have enough or they are really afraid there might be people w/stinger missiles just waiting for the low speed, low altitude pass said juicy targets would make.
3. No big announcement of a draft or similar. This does not mean he is not going to do it (he is already doing it), he is just fearful of the backslash.
I really expected to wake up to some shocking news, but atm putin reminds me of hitler on the last days of WWII, all bark and no bite.
