In regards to the White House statement, I'm going to wait until the end of March to draw any real conclusions. Then again, Trump could have insane luck (or the universe just hates America by this point).
Also, because of the video on the previous page, I found this one to be VERY interesting. It's not specifically about the coronavirus, but I do think it provides some interesting information about where all these diseases have been coming from
The tl;dw is, Wuhan's wet markets are a breeding ground for these diseases due to the gray area they operate in under the Chinese government
