Ren's been pretty open about being on Naofumi's side when the facts are in front of him and he wants to get stronger. If Naofumi is handing him a way to do that without embarrassing himself, he'd go for it.

It'd honestly be more fitting if the others just didn't believe him. Yeah, it'd be stupid. But it'd be in character for Motoyatsu and Itsuki.
