In the manga, I believe he did and they just didn't believe him.

She's still a member of the Lance Hero's party, so she was on the guest list like all the other party members.
That said, that poison attempt wasn't in the manga (this whole party was basically simultaneous with her renaming, so she was in shackles until afterwards).
