The Yotsuba have many magicians that specialize or are good at outer systematic magic, which is pretty rare. If they came out into the open and were semi transparent there would be no end to the number of groups and countries out to get them to try to acquire outer systematic magicians. The Yotsuba are just that special/unique. Even before Maya got kidnapped not that much was known about the Yotsuba. The other clans and the rest of the world didn't know they were that powerful until after they destroyed Dahan.
