It would be interesting to see the former freshmen leading a team, but I also don't want the production staff to feel compelled to keep topping themselves. Der Film was about as much ridiculousness as I could handle without turning it into a giant robot series. Fun, yes, long-term-credible, no.

I want the production team to try topping themselves in a more "tactical" direction. They had things pretty well balanced, at least in my mind, in the main anime and the OVA. In
der Film, they were not so much on Rule of Cool as throwing everything out the window for brief moments of coolness which sometimes isn't even all that cool. In essence, it became a kind of shonen and I meant that in a bad way.
