Already answered this question, but if you need a damn time stamp: Episode 6, 5:50. When everyone else is kicking back over beers and bitching about what hardasses Messer and Mikumo are, Mirage is still back in the training center letting Messer harass her one-on-one. There is your example (and granted it is the only one we get, because seeing that every damn episode would be boring), so you can stop saying that we 'never see her put in any effort.'
