In the LN the rape and deaths happened too, but after that it would never happen again. There are lots of deaths and some badass scenes.

The MC is very capable, with a serious attitude most of the time while (obviously) the girls fall for him after looking how manly he is - add sarcarsm here -.

I look at the first chapter of the manga (Korean so I don't understand the text) and it ended in a cliffhanger. May I ask for some spoilers?
