There's also what orion suggested too, of course, that Kanami is a widowed/divorcee/single mom.
Personally I think a person like Kanami would not settle anyone lesser. Her husband, if any (and probably her kid as well!), would probably someone just as
whacky big-hearted as she is =3

Family: Ohhhh, that sounds fun! We wanna go too!
