Is he a idiot?? It´s make sense that he don't understand (until now) that the Demon Lord is powerful because he is so OP, but is he BLIND? he didn't feel any pain from the attacks but how a weak and low level sorcerer could do a "Destruction to the extent of having to remake the map of earth (chapter 5)"
