I think he just disappeared, due to the fact the author has a lot of characters to cover and he's not part of the main group of characters that the author usually focuses on...
If I remember correctly there was a side story about him in volume 5 with the title -
The Honour Student's Supplementary Lesson, but apart from that, I don't remember him being mentioned or having any meaningful roles in the story ... most likely because he is too 'normal', to have a chance to get some screen time.
