I see your point. I was all about saying "love triangles have nothing to do with that!", but on further thinking his
decisiveness in choosing Miriya and sticking with it through hell and high water precludes him from any love triangle activity.
Protagonists in love triangles can't have that same level of decisiveness or the triangle will be over immediately.
