I think the discussion of the arcs in the manga would always be separate, but the good thing about the arc-based approach is that people could choose to read about that particular arc in the manga after watching the anime, and not risk being spoiled on other stuff. So I think it has some merit, anyway...
But other than that, I'll let you all continue to discuss the ideas.
