It's not really a reference to a chap but rather to a horse who could go through a lot of things in the story of Fist of the north star. Well, seeing how Sera butt in on Saras conversation with Ayumu and treating him harsher then usual, i'd say yes <.< but it could be also due her "rivalry" with Saras.
