Just for clarification, did Lawrence actually know the Yoitsu was destroyed when he met Horo, or was that just a misconception on Horo's part?

Lawrence had heard stories of Yoitsu's destruction before meeting Horo, but since Deanna is an authoritative figure on the subject, the fact that what she tells him coincides with what Lawrence had already heard lends further credit to the story.

I think you need to look a bit harder, because the English translations are definitely still around. I know so, because I did them.

And the sentence where she ask Lawrence to mate with her is translated differently, Horo's asking Lawrence to hold her instead, although the meaning is pretty much the same because she wants to bear a child like her so she wouldn't be alone anymore.

Actually, that's not all she says. Quoted from my translation:
Horo screamed loudly, then ceased her movements.

“I say you, would you hold me?”

Lawrence almost loosened his grip on Horo’s arms.

Lawrence looked at Horo’s smiling face, which carried an intensely cold air. Horo was ridiculing her own loss of reason.

“I am already alone. But, if I were to have a child, that would make two. Look, I am human in appearance right now, so it would not be impossible to be together with you who are a human, would it? You....”

A word on the episode: this is one of the scenes I was really looking forward to seeing in animated form, and I must say, I am extremely pleased with how it turned out, which is exactly as I had imagined it. 10/10, hands down.
