Feel free to discuss any music related subjects for Mahouka here (OP/ED & OST, etc.). As the usual rule, NO POSTING LINKS TO MP3s OR ASKING FOR THEM. You may buy them at the usual place such as cdjapan and what not, but DO NOT ask for or post links to any music downloads. This includes, but isn't limited to:

Does anyone have any idea what BGM is playing during the last part of Episode 2 before the ED?

Personally I'm enjoying the LiSA OP song and Iwasaki Taku's soundtrack.

Yeah, the OP is really nice. Madhouse seems to be a good job doing it. The OP for the disaster that Mahou Sensou was, was also great. Those two are probably my favourite OPs of the last few months.

To be honest I prefer Mahouka's ED1 to the OP, though I think the OP is certainly "fitting" for the series.

I like both of them, I hope they make characters song soon :(

Oricon has had on 4 or something like that. So not big a difference in this case.

Yea but the sales are completely average. 36k for 1st week. 6k for 2nd week.
I've been looking at oricon chart for like 4 years now, position(unless on yearly chart) doesn't mean much in this day unfortunately.

So does this mean that Rising Hope has no chance at all to be a megahit joining the ranks of Titan's 1st OP, and Valvrave's 2 opening songs?

PS. iirc, all 3 songs I mentioned made to Japan's highly prized Kohaku Uta Gassen annual song contest.

Frozen's kinda a worldwide phenomenon and Japan is no different. It's currently 5th in the all time box office numbers and looks like being a lock to take the top spot over from Spirited Away. It's probably going to move into the 3rd spot behind Spirited Away and Titanic after this week.

Tm revolution and Nana Mizuki didn't get on the show because of valvrave's song. They are veterens with consistent and above average sales for anything they release. Due to their long history and their constant relevance, they were invited to perform a song. Most performers on kouhaku are either veterens or big smashing trends.

Linked horizon got on kouhaku because attack on titan was a completely big and smashing trend (along with kyary). The AOT song sold more than 260k copies in its lifetime which is a big achievement for a single not by an idol group. ItIt also made a smash on the digital charts which is important

Yes. Rising hope has no chance. Don't expect it.

Read from Miyuki's perspective, they are quite... remarkable.

Pity if that's so. Still think the guitar work and tune is good.
