This is a job for...Fubby!

Will post more as I hear of it. Also, I think we should exclude the ship model kit tie-ins, since the Aoshima Kancolle ships are basically remolds of the old WWII kits but other than the box label (and more expensive pricing) it's only Kancolle merchandise by virtue of the girls on the box pic. Other than that they're not really all that related.

You mean, "Bukki". :P

And ugh, it's the same maker as that Kitakami kit isn't it? The derpy faces...

wavehawk 2015-02-01 06:30

Yeah, but the derp look works well on Fubby.

ArGH I can't help myself! Curse my westernized way of thinking@

The original character design is also to blame. Meanwhile, the Abyssals get the more polished and well done figurines.

I hope they release anime versions of the kanmusu, just like what happened with Black Rock Shooter.

http://figuephoto2.blogspot.jp/2015/02/blog-post.html doesn't look much like Asashio to me but still an amazing figure.

Ah, GoodSmile.

Re-class 1/8 scale and Nendoroid. Can't do either because my wallet is already critically damaged.

...but that's not the point. The Abyssals' designs themselves are very interesting, compared to what in most cases of the regular Kanmusu are essentially variiations of school uniforms or miko outfits. Odder things like Atago and Takao's blue coats or Musashi's fanservice bandage stand out a lot more from the rest.

Armor Girls Plus Musashi. Not really much of a surprise since they released Yamato, so at least some of Musashi's accessories would be similar.

Even if the Yamato and Musashi figures themselves have nothing in common...

And apparently you can remove those glasses (or is that an alternate face)?

Most likely not going to sell well.
Yamato got major flak since bandai put details on the ship parts, but completely screwed details on Yamato herself. Paintjob is also very crappy.

Cyprene 2015-02-02 21:55

That Wo-Chan nendroid figurine is a bitch and a half to find. I found one place selling it for like twice retail, which is insane.

Shame, 'cause I want it.

- I'm actually wondering if Bandai's AGP teams and Figuarts teams are one and the same. I was ranting over in the Love Live threads that the Figuarts versions of the Love Live characters were not the best in terms of face sculpts, but strangely previous Figuarts (Sailor Moon and Precure) and AGPs (Infinite Stratos) were either good or at least acceptable for the price they ask for.

And seriously, at the prices that AGPs go for, you'd expect at least SOME of the budget would go to the "girl" part and not wholly on the "Armor" part...

They need to release a Hoppo plushie. And dakimakura.

This will make Abenomics work. :p

I had to go to New York Comic Con to get mine (since I completely missed the original web order phase). Of course that only works for a certain geographical area and a particular timeframe.

Qikz 2015-02-03 18:18

It's available from nipponyasan for 10.8k and I'm seriously finding it hard to resist her. She's the only Kancolle nendo I don't have ;_;
