Which is interesting... the original anime did a pretty exact job of covering the first five volumes of the night novel... aside from totally skipping vol 4, and swapping in Chole in the first arc which was a pretty minor change.

If this version moves at the same pace, even adding the Tereo arc won't get them to 24ish episodes. And there's not really much more material they can add elsewhere without going off-novel. Maybe they're aiming to go the full way to Vol 6?

Saw a trailer/teaser...Holo sounds much more moe than proud/snarky.

WDYM? Old anime adapted 4 volumes in 24 eps. If they go the same pace, they will adapt the same 4 volumes (just ending with vol. 4 instead of 5 maybe). Going with faster pace to end up on vol. 6 may be a better idea this time but we'll see.

Wasn't the manga/LN around 18 volumes? How much would they actually cover with this reboot.

Late reply, but I guess that the first four episodes aired in theatres as a preview. I'll put this in spoiler tags since it's based on raws.

Spoiler for Based on early airing of first four episodes:

Original LN run is 17 volumes (11 story arcs with 1-2 volumes each + 4 side-story collections). And there are 7 "Spring Log" volumes so far that are sort of sequel/spin-off ones published starting 5 years after original run. And 10 volumes so far of proper sequel series Parchment and Wolf about
Spoiler for plot:

On the other note, new OP preview. I know people will not stop complayning that it is not as good as old series S1 OP but I still like it:

I listened to it rather than drop it a few seconds in. It's gentle enough to suit the material.

Well, given how some titles are getting adapted all the way of late, maybe this one finally will.

Ep 1 - Some of it does remind me of the old anime, but rose tinted glasses on that. Holo does seem not too different in characterization. I hope the same can be true for Lawrence because he went from too happy-go-lucky to shocked over the course of the ep, but then cooled down by the end. Hopefully the last part stays.

Oh wow, Chloe actually made a cameo in episode 1 :D

The story is said to be the travel around Baltic states and Prussia, but the folk dance costume looks more Irish.
