Yeah, ha, that looks like a video game weapon alright. I should take a full photo of my 5.56s, since both my Colt & Daniel Defense were modified enough to have become something else entirely by this point.
Anyway no, not a crack in the stock. I just slapped on some grip tape. Also the rail system, it allows me to use the iron sights even if I choose to disengage the scope, and the rail still provides enough clearance for use of a stripper clip.
Also, speaking of corrosion ammo and gas system, you can check it out on the bottom. The SVT-40 has a relatively simple disassembly process, almost tool-free. This is not like an AK or SKS where you have to pop open the gas system with a friggin wrench!
I cannot believe how clean this thing is, and it's from 1940! Oh, and speaking of stripper clips... they may not work on Mosins, but they certain do work on the SVT-40.
