Preview's out!
After this packed spring season, with probably the most concurrent shows I've ever started
and kept watching, eight total, this coming season probably will be a bit of a letdown. Well, let's see what appears to be especially watcheable for me.
Engage Kiss : Hum, romance and science-fiction? The preview really tells me nothing of note, but it seems an engaging combination and the artwork seems to be decent, if unexceptional. Two episodes.
Utawarerumono: Futari no Hakuoro : I loved the original show, but the sequel kinda left me wandering off. I still got the sequel on my PC, so I probably should try watching that one again before venturing into this. So, conditionally on my time and motivation, I might follow this.
Kinsou no Vermeil: Gakeppuchi Majutsushi wa Saikyou no Yakusai to Mahou Sekai o Tsukisusumu : Ecchi. Absolutely not my sitch, but the main protanonist is named Alto. Damn you, Macross Frontier nostalgia! One episode, to see if it is as trash as it looks or something worthwhile may be salvaged from it.
Isekai Ojisan : So, this looks kinda exceptional. Uncle wakes up from a coma, was whisked to an isekai world and keeps his powers. Hum. Yeah. Three episodes.
Yofukashi no Uta : I actually looked at the manga for this, because Gigguk was hyping it up a few months ago. It's a decently well told story, but nothing too special. Still, I'll give it two episodes to see if it is worth it.
Hoshi no Samidare : So, uh, the preview on RC gave me nothing but Guardian Enzo going "boo hoo hoo, meta meta meta meta, boo hoo hoo".
Dude is really up his own ass. One episode, just to check it out.
Kuro no Shoukanshi : Yadda yadda yadda, isekai, yadda yadda. One episode. Yeah, I may be getting over the whole isekai bit as well, at least the generic stuff. The more special premises still add a lot to my enjoyment, though. This one doesn't look special.
Isekai Yakkyoku : Isekai girl bringing modern medicine to a fantasy world. See,
that's the kind of special premise which at least piques my interest. Two episodes.
KJ File : Well, then. Kaiju observation. Or whatever. Interesting premise, gets two episodes.
Hataraku Maou-sama!! : Oh, yeah. Despite knowing of some, uh, disappointing news about the ending of the light novel, I intend to enjoy this to its fullest. Picked up automatically.
Dungeon ni Deai o Motomeru no wa Machigatte Iru Darouka: Familia Myth IV : Alright, season two was kind of a dud (aside from one epic bitchslap by Freya) and season three was good, although not as good as season one. The spin-off suffered from focusing on the wrong character. We still haven't gotten an epic fight like the minotaur in season one, too. Soooo... yeah. Still picked up, of course. But I do hope we get better material this time around.
Fuuto Tantei : Sci-Fi detective series? Or at least cyberpunk detective series? Well, I guess we'll see. These kind of shows often die on the vine for me, because the characters are "too cool for school" or just way over the top. Or the setting is just weird for the sake of it. One episode to reel me in.
So, two shows which are absolute must-see's and a lot of stuff I would say is either maybe worth it and maybe an instant drop. Ah, well. Such an abundance of riches like this spring can't really be expected every time around.
What looks interesting to you guys?
