Well, here we are. After a very decent fall anime season, let's see if the winter one can keep up. As usual, only shows which interest me, which is why the much hyped
Attack on Titan The Last Season No Really We Mean It This Time!!! does not get a mention from me. Feel free to add your own shows you want to talk about, though.
Leadale no Daichi nite : To start out, an isekai with a female protagonist. Seems to be one of those "relaxed" stories, which are like candy, easy to consume, easily forgotten afterwards. Character designs are good, animation seems so so. Gets three episodes to convince me to stay, since I presume I will find the premise charming.
Tokyo 24-ku : Sooo, mysterious phone calls from the past, some decent action, seems urban fantasy heavy without the mystical races part. Not that much of a fan of the animation style, though. Two episodes to make me care.
Orient : So, this seems to be a shonen anime, which for some reason never really resonated with me (never watched Bleach, One Piece and so on, beyond looking at some pictures and going "naaaaaaaaaah". Watched a lot of Dragon Ball, though, since it was on TV in Paraguay). So, two episodes to see if it gets my inner child going?
Shikkaku Mon no Saikyou Kenja : Ugh. This seems like the most weaksauce premise of premises after all the isekai I've watched and it's not even an isekai. One episode, to see if the character designs or writing pay off in some way beyond "Oh, he so strong, all women fall for him instantly, except the tsunderes who pretend they haven't... but they really have, instantly." Man, I've gotten cynical about these kinds of shows, haven't I?
Kaijin Kaihatsubu no Kuroitsu-san : So, um, what, we are following the work days of a secret supervillain? Well, it's a unique premise, to be sure. Gets three episodes. Because of the catgirl. Yeah, I'm shameless that way. ^^
Fantasy Bishoujo Juniku Ojisan to : Okay, the premise made me laugh. Two sararimen transported to another world and one gets transformed into a pretty girl and now they have to get back to the real world and defeat the demon lord before they fall in love. ^^ Well, don't make your premise too complicated.
Two episodes, could be good fun.
Tensai Ouji no Akaji Kokka Saiseijutsu : Hum, lazy prince tries to sell off his country to be more lazy, but messes up and through his genius has to get out of the mess, while the country adores him by getting his intentions wrong? Am I hearing a Cai- Cai- Ciaphas Cain, HERO OF THE IMPERIUM chant in the distance? Yeah, two episodes, sounds like a decent premise at least.
Kenja no Deshi o Nanoru Kenja : So, uh, MMO player who plays a Gandalf-like character uses a sex change potion and now plays a young white haired girl mage, while for some reason 30 years have passed in-world and now he has to play as his young female self? I mean, uh, okay. That 30 year skip makes no sense, but the synopsis probably is missing some isekai elements. In any case, character designs are cute, I'm a sucker for white-haired girls, so two episodes to convince me to stay.
Koroshi Ai : Hm, an international spy thriller. You don't see too many of those in anime. Yes, please, more of that. Character designs are well done while avoiding the overly prettified style of some shows (mostly shoujo male harem stuff). Two episodes.
So, nines series of interest. With the usual percentage of garbage between them, I presume I'll end up with hopefully three shows to watch. Which is okay, as long as those shows don't peter out during the season, as they so often do.
Man, where's
Shield Bro S2? I hope we get it in spring. Also, literally
zero mecha. Arrggggh.
